We joined hands, and I began the prayer:

Great Spirit and Great Mother Earth, we thank you for the space in which to gather on this day.  We offer ourselves as a conduit for your energies, and ask to be guided into the space that will bring us into harmony with your design for our world at this time.

We accept the offerings of Great Mother Earth, as we allow the energy she provides to us to flow up to and through our feet, up through our legs, through our body and along our arms right to our fingertips.  The energy flows through us and along the chain we have created.  Notice how the energy flows from us to others, and at the same time the energy flows through the fingertips of others to and through us.

We ask for blessings and healing for this cherry tree.  The leaves reach out to Great Spirit and accept the gifts from Great Spirit of the sun and the warmth, offering these as energy for the tree as it flows through and into the earth.  The earth offers her nutrients and water, flowing these energies through the tree as an offering to Great Spirit.  The tree offers itself as a conduit, but it takes the tree to connect the earth and the cosmos, and bring about this exchange.

So is it with each person here today. They serve as a conduit for these earth and cosmic energies, and serve with humility.  Yet each acts in a very important role, for it is only through the individual bringing consciousness to the flow of these energies that the cosmic and earth energies are brought together.  Each person here plays a part in creating a powerful alliance, in bringing forth the dreams of the universe in our worldly environment.
